When you start living in an english speaking country or when you are chatting with friends or speakng to people, many times you will come across abbreviated words which may sound a bit wierd to you at first.

Wall Street English
Here is a list with the common used abbreviations in English.
the actual abbreviation, its meaning in English and an example to see the context where it’s used.
ASAP – As soon as Possible – Could you please email me that C.V. ASAP.
BRB – Be right Back – Commonly used while chatting on the internet. Hey someone’s at the door brb
BTW – By the Way – We got that sale, hey BTW are you meeting me this evening for dinner
COB – Close of Business – We need to complete this project by COB
DIY – Do it yourself – Why call an electrician when you can go get the plug and DIY.
FYI – For your Information – Used in Emails most of the time, when forwarding an email to the rest of the team.
IMO – In my opinion – IMO you are right but every one has their viewpoint.
NP – No problem – Hey NP we can catch up some other day.
OMG – Oh my god – OMG is Amitabh Bachan really acting as a small child?
TBA – To be Announced – The competition results are TBA later this evening
TBC – The holiday scheme is yet TBC
VIP – Very Important Person – Are you joining ChillX.com VIP club?
